Callum Ainley believes that it is important that we quickly forget about September and concentrate on making October a much more productive month. Crewe put a disappointing run of results firmly behind us with a well-deserved 1-0 win over Stevenage last weekend and the talented Academy graduate says it is vital we build on that at Yeovil this weekend.

Ainley, who has been involved in all of Crewe Alexandra’s games this season in some capacity, said: “It was important we got back to winning games again. We showed that against Stevenage last week and now we have to build on that.

“It was the best possible way to win with a last minute goal and it has given everyone a lift. We need to forget about last month and just make sure we concentrate on getting results. It is about looking forward and making sure we pick up as many points as we can.

“It is a long journey down to Yeovil but we will go down the day before and prepare properly. It is all about getting down there and getting sufficient rest on the coach and then at the hotel.

“Then on a match day it is the same as any other. We will be ready and hopefully this will be a better month for us.”
