Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell will encourage his players to go back to basics to make sure that our work ethic will earn us the right to play our football at Forest Green Rovers.
Crewe go into the game at the New Lawn hoping to avoid a fourth consecutive league defeat and Artell says that he doesn’t want his players to over complicate things and express themselves more openly.
David told the club’s official website: “The players have to realise that they are good players. They are professional players and they are good footballers. That is why they are here at this Football Club.
“They need to eradicate any negative doubts they may have because they are good footballers. They have to work hard and revert back to the basics. If we are having a bad 10 minutes or 15 minutes then revert back to working your socks off. Deal with it.
“When your only thought is to make sure that your man isn’t going to get the better of you then that doesn’t half help your focus. I would encourage them not to over think things. I want them to go out there and express themselves fully.
“It gets to the point when you have to start putting a run together if you want to start moving up the league. We want to be heading in the right direction and there is no better place to start than against a team that is close to us in the league.”
