Rotherham Will Reflect Paul Warne

3 November 2017

David Artell says that Paul Warne’s Rotherham United side will play with a high intensity and energy because that is how Warne use to play.

Artell is facing his hometown club for the first time as a manager and he stresses that he would like nothing more than to ruin his own dad’s weekend by masterminding a Crewe victory! The Artell household will be split over the weekend with Artell senior an avid supporter of the Millers.

David told crewealex.net: “It is a great opportunity to set a marker because Rotherham are a good side. They were in the Championship last season and have some really good players.

“We will prepare the same and it will be tough but it is up to us to get under their skin and face the challenge head on.

“They will be play with high energy because that will be reflective of Paul when he played. They will be hard working and have players who can hurt you.

“We will have to be at it. If we score the first goal then that is great. If they score the first goal, it cannot be fatal. We have got to be a bit better at that.

“We have got to work our socks off to match them and if we can then I always feel we have enough quality to open teams up.

He added: “I want us to win the game and make sure we are in the hat. I want to make my dad as miserable as possible on Saturday night.”
