Nolan Targets Upset At Home Of Former Club

30 November 2017

The former Blackburn Rovers defender Eddie Nolan is hoping that Crewe Alexandra can spring a cup upset at Ewood Park on Sunday and get us back to winning ways.

The Alex failed to build on a gritty 1-0 win at Morecambe by slipping up at home to league leaders Luton Town last weekend - but Nolan, who spent four years at Rovers as a young player is targeting a morale boosting victory.

The Irishman told iFollow the Alex: “We have taken some knock backs with our results of late. They have not been god enough and we seem to win one and lose one, so we want to get back to winning ways against Blackburn and take that into our league form.

“It is a big game for all of us and I’m sure it will be a great experience for a number of our younger players, who have never played in a stadium like that before.

“We know it will be a tough game but we are all really looking forward to it and we know that if we play as well as we can then we could cause an upset. We have already beaten Rotherham, so we know that when we play well, we can more than match teams. The aim is to get into the third round.

Nolan added: “Our results have been too up and down, so hopefully if we can put on a performance on Sunday and get a result then that could start a run to take into a busy month of fixtures.”
