David Artell has praised the unselfish play of Chris Dagnall after he has recently employed him in a deeper attacking role.
The Crewe Alexandra captain has consistency helped the midfield out whilst also breaking forward to support the attack. He has also shown his ability in the air by repeatedly heading the ball out of our box.
The Crewe boss appreciates the sacrifice Dagnall has made for the team: “Daggers has been terrific for us. We have asked him to play a bit differently in the last two games and he just gets on with it. He does his job and he is the ultimate team player.
“He has always led by example and if you watch the clips, it is usually him getting his head of things when a corner comes in. I cannot praise him enough.
“We know that we would prefer him to be in the opposition box more because he is a goalscorer, but tactically we have done things a bit differently and Daggers has been key to that.”
