David Artell says it will be vital that his Crewe Alexandra side stand up to Morecambe’s set-plays if we are going to achieve a positive result at the Globe Arena this evening. Crewe go into the game looking to end a run of four league defeats on the spin.
The Crewe boss was fuming after we allowed a 2-1 lead slip at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday mainly because of our lack of desire to head the ball out of our box in the 92nd minute. The Alex staff had worked tirelessly on countering set-plays and he was livid after Rovers scored a dramatic winner from a corner.
Ahead of this evening’s clash at Morecambe, Artell said: “We'll show them the video, we've do a bit of shape and work on defending their set-pieces and we'll give them belief we can go and win the game.
“We've nothing to fear unless you let fear take control. I respect them, I know Jim (Bentley) well, love the guy. But we've nothing to fear.
“It's football, it's not life and death, it should be close to it, but it's not.”
