David Artell was quick to praise the 400 plus Crewe Alexandra supporters who got behind the team at the New Lawn at the weekend.
The Crewe faithful were caught in the rain for the entire game, but sang their hearts out until Rovers hit an injury-time winner from a corner.
Crewe had led 2-1 entering the final 10 minutes but let the advantage slip from our grasp to end up with nothing to show for our effort and Artell was quick to praise the supporters.
He told the club’s official website: “The fans were terrific for us. There was a big following and they were out there in the open, wet through but they sang their hearts out.
“They were great and at times like this we really need them. We need to unite and this is not the time for division. We have to stand together, the fans, the board, players and staff.
“It is time for unity and only by doing that will we get out of the hole we are in.”
