Turton Will Leave This Summer

25 May 2017

Ollie Turton will leave Crewe Alexandra this summer. The defender has decided not to accept the club’s offer of a new contract and he will become a free agent this summer.

Manager David Artell met with the right-back on Tuesday and gave him a further 24 hours to think things over. Turton has decided to end his long association with the club after making 190 appearances and he was a part of the Crewe Alexandra squads that won promotion to League One via the play-offs in 2012 and lifting the JPT almost 12 months later.

Turton, 24, has also played a number of games in central midfield and became a firm favourite with the Alex faithful due to his work ethic and competitive spirit. Last season, the reliable defender played 50 times and was in the top three for the Player-of-the-Year awards.

We would like to go on record to thank Turts for his service and wish him every success for the future.
