Richards Signs New Deal

15 May 2017

Goalkeeper the latest to commit his future to the club.

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce that goalkeeper David Richards has today agreed terms and signed a new 12-month contract with the club. The 23-year-old stopper follows Ollie Finney in agreeing a new deal with the club.

Richards has been understudy to number one Ben Garratt for the last couple of seasons and due to the form and fitness of our former England Youth International he is still make to make a first-team appearance for the club.

The former Bristol City and Cardiff goalkeeper has been a regular for the club’s Under-23 side and he played a big part in helping the club win the Cheshire Senior Cup this season.

Sadly, Richards broke a finger in the semi-final win at Hyde United and that forced him out of the final. The injury prematurely ended his season, and the club had to bring in Andy Dawber to act as cover for the last few weeks of the season.
