Perry Ng Commits His Future To The Alex
David Artell says that securing Perry Ng on a new contract is a ‘great signing’ for the Football Club. The young defender made 20 appearances for the first team last season and finished the season strongly in the centre of the Crewe defence alongside Captain George Ray, and when he was ruled out with a back injury, midfielder Billy Bingham.
Perry has signed a one-year deal with an option for a further 12 months depending on his appearance record.
The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “Perry is a great signing for us. He showed that he has bright future with his performances during the end of the season. He has improved and developed and I’m sure he will play a number of games next season.
“The hard work starts now for him. He has his contract and that is great and we congratulate him on that but he has to go again to make sure he is in the team. It is up to him.
“If he does the business then he will be in the team. If he doesn’t then he will only put obstacles in his way. It doesn’t matter if I sign one, two or six centre-halves this summer, it is up to Perry and that is the same with all of them. If they play well then they get in the team.
“If there is someone ahead of them then you have to really want the shirt. It is up to them to get it and that starts from the first pre-season game right through to next May.”
