Lunt: "We Will Learn From Experience"

3 May 2017

Kenny Lunt says dressing room will only learn from up-and-down season.

Kenny Lunt believes that this season’s up-and-down season will only benefit the younger players in the Crewe Alexandra squad. The club’s assistant manager feels that another 9 months of playing time for a majority of our younger players will only make them stronger going forward.

The former club captain, who won promotion back to the Championship in 2003, believes that the Crewe Alexandra dressing room will only become stronger due to the experience of being as high as 3rd and then battling against being dragged into a relegation scrap.

Lunt told crewealex.net: “We are all learning on the job. That is what happens at this club. As a player you learn in the team.

“They are all gaining invaluable experience from playing the games and being in and around the first team. It is a great education for them.

“They really have to stand up now and take what they have learned this season into next season. They will benefit from the season and will have grown more mature with what happened. Their aim, like it is for the staff, is to keep on improving and aim for better results.

“I think we have played some good football. We seem to do better against teams that play football but there is another side to football and if it becomes a battle then we have stand up to that as well.

Kenny added: “We have to come through the battle and then let our football come through. We have to mix it up and then have the confidence to play."
