Lunt: "We Are Still Discussing One Or Two"

3 May 2017

Assistant manager Kenny Lunt says players are still playing for a possible contract.

Assistant manager Kenny Lunt has revealed that there are still some of our players still playing for their futures. With David Artell on a coaching course at St. George’s Park, Lunt admitted that the staff are still discussing the futures of ‘one or two’ as they assess their squad for next season.

Crewe have one game remaining and face Barnet at Gresty Road on Saturday afternoon. Fans are reminded that the kick-off time has been changed to 5.30pm to climax the EFL League Two season.

Lunt told the club’s official web-site: “There are still one or two players we are discussing. We are looking at everything, who he want to try and bring in and who we want to keep if we can.

“If we can bring in better then we will try but we are still assessing our own. We have been doing that every day in training and in the games. They have a chance to impress us every day with their attitude and we are still unsure on one or two. Much will depend on who we can get in.

Kenny added: “I’m sure we will finalise everything when we have played the final game. We will discuss the players and the ones we will let go; we will wish them all the best. That is the hardest part of the job but it is something that has to be done.”
