Assistant praise for Bingham and Ng for helping us through injury crisis.
Kenny Lunt has praised the contribution of Billy Bingham and Perry Ng after they were thrust into a defensive partnership due to untimely injuries to our three main centre-halves. Bingham has successfully switched from a midfield role and youngster Ng has looked assured in a season where he has really shown his potential as a ball playing defender.
The club’s assistant manager told crewealex.net: “You are always finding out about players and both Perry and Billy have been exceptional for us in the last three games. We have had all our senior centre-halves ruled out with injury and when you have to go with a new partnership you are going to be unsure about it.
“They have stepped up. We thought that Perry just needed a go in his preferred position and he has gone in there and taken his chance.
“Billy has slotted in there and shown that he can do it. I would think we have the best two footballing centre-halves in the league at the moment! If you are looking for players to play out from the back and into midfield then our two have been exceptional for us.
Lunt added: “They haven’t make defensive mistakes and I wouldn’t fault them for any of the goals we have conceded.”
