Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Ben Garratt is enjoying being back at Reaseheath on a part-time basis as members of the squad begin their fitness & conditioning work ahead of pre-season.
Players are free to come in once or twice a week before the return to pre-season in late June to keep themselves ticking over & the Crewe stopper is keen to put in the extra work to ensure he's ready for the pre-season schedule.
Ben told crewealex.net: "The sports science side of things is important to keep yourself ticking over & not just leave things alone for six or seven weeks.
"If you do that, then when you come back full-time you could quite easily break-down so I think it's for our own benefit. We all buy into it & we think it's good.
"For us as goalkeepers it's slightly different at the moment, staying on top of the weights & keeping the base fitness levels up. Towards the back end of the close season I'll get my gloves back on & then we'll kick back on into pre-season.
"I'll be doing Fred's camp that he holds every year & then we'll be intol full scale pre-season, so I'm looking forward to it."
