Daggers: "League Two Can Be Tough"

4 May 2017

Chris Dagnall says clubs youngsters would have learned all about the demands of League Two.

The club’s leading goalscorer Chris Dagnall is hoping to end his debut season with another goal on the final day of the season and three points against Barnet. Dagnall is on 14 goals this season and his form in the second half of the campaign certainly helped ease our fear of being dragged into a relegation scrap.

Ahead of the final game of the season, Dagnall told Crewe Alex Player: “It has been an up and down season but since the gaffer came in, the mood has been more positive and we have managed to go on some little runs to get the results we have needed.

“We have managed to move away from the bottom two and I’m sure the gaffer will have some new ideas for next season.

“I’ve been pleased with the goals I’ve managed to score this season. I would like to get one or two more if I can this weekend.

“The young lads would have learned from the experience. They will realise that League Two isn’t always pretty and that you can’t play nice football all the time. You have to mix things up because sometimes it can be rough and tough at this level.

“They will learn that and we have to win our battles, so we can play our football and be better on the ball than the opposition.”
