David Artell hopes players will re-sign this summer as his deadline approaches.

David Artell says it is crunch day for his out of contract players. The Alex boss remains optimistic that defenders Jon Guthrie and Ollie Turton will commit their futures to the club.

Youngsters George Ray and Perry Ng are different as they are under the age of 24 and the club   would receive compensation if they elected not to re-sign this summer.

Artell has made it clear from the start that he would not let a contract saga drag into the close season and he is hoping for a positive response today.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “It getting towards crunch time for the players. They know that and we’ll see what happens. I hope they sign but if they don’t then we know where we are and what we need going forward.

“What we do this summer will depend on who we keep and who goes. All we can do is wait, it is as simple as that.”
