David Artell will talk with Hollands after he proved his fitness.
.Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell wants to retain experienced midfielder Danny Hollands after he proved his fitness towards the end of the season
Artell will offer the 31-year-old Hollands fresh terms and is set to meet with again this week. Hollands made 29 appearances for Crewe Alexandra before he suffered a torn tendon in the 2-1 win over Wycombe.
The former Portsmouth and Bournemouth man battled back to fitness to make himself available for the final game of the season but didn’t quite make the substitutes bench for the Barnet encounter.
Artell told the club’s official web-site: “I want to keep Danny. I will speak to him later in the week and I will offer him a new deal. I told him on Saturday that was the plan. It was a bit different because of his injury but he has done brilliantly to get back.
“We should have been out of for four/five months and got back in under three. That speaks volumes of his professionalism.
“He has been terrific for us and we had a few more with the same mentality as Danny then we would be fine. He is the type who would run through a brick wall for the club and I want him to stay.”
