Artell Hopes Performances Have Given Lift

8 May 2017

Artell looks forward to busy summer after finishing with a comfortable home win.

David Artell has told the club’s official web-site that he hopes his spell in charge has provided some hope ahead of the 2017/18 season. The Railwaymen ended the season with a superb 4-1 win over Barnet and Artell was delighted with the way his side continued to remain professionalism until the final whistle.

Chris Dagnall hit a fine hat-trick to take his overall tally to 17 goals for the season and now Artell is aiming for improvement next season as he targets a genuine push for promotion.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “We have to now build on what we have achieved. I think that the mind-set of the players is beginning to change and I hope that the way we have played at times this season has given the fans some faith and hope going forward.

“We now want to have a good summer. We will get that rest and recuperation in but we will be working hard on recruitment and looking to improve the squad.

He added: “The players will come back with some more belief. What we have to do is make sure we get more out of them. If we can do that then good things can happen because we have some good players here.”
