Artell: "Been Busy Since The Last Kick"

Boss working behind the scenes to bring in targets.

David Artell has told the club’s official web-site that he hasn’t stopped communicating with potential targets since the end of the season. The Alex boss and his staff have been working hard behind the scenes to bring new players in and he is hoping that one or two more could be joining his first permanent signing of the summer, Jordan Bowery’ at the club soon.

The Alex boss is aiming to bring in one or two targets as early as possible to boost his squad for next season after defenders Jon Guthrie and Ollie Turton made it known that they would like to leave this summer.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “It's been busy, incessant phone calls, we were supposed to meet two players but they aren't coming for various reasons. We'll rearrange.

“It's sometimes frustrating, sometimes rewarding, we'll keep plugging away to try to get the best players which will give us the best chance of being successful next year.

“We gave it a good go in January with the two lads we managed to get in and if we can bring in the same sort of quality this summer then we’ll be alright.

“All our focus now is concentrating on getting players in and it always gives you a boost if you can get one or two in early.”
