Artell Adamant Over New Deals

15 May 2017

David Artell says he will not move over contract deadline.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has reiterated to the club’s official web-site that those players who are out of contract now have seven days to make up their minds. The Crewe Alexandra manager has made offers to the players he wants to keep at the Alexandra Stadium and he has gone on record to encourage defenders Jon Guthrie and Ollie Turton to continue their careers in South Cheshire. Reserve goalkeeper Dave Richards has also been offered a new deal.

Captain George Ray and youngest Perry Ng are both under the age of 24 and the club would receive compensation if he do not sign this summer.

Artell has told crewealex.net that he will remain adamant over contract offers, so he can start bringing in new recruits.

Dave told the club’s official web-site: “There will be no contract there for them to sign. I am adamant on that because I want to know what we are doing.

“Take Jon for example, he has had a long time to sign his contract. If he doesn’t then he doesn’t. I won’t lose any sleep. If they don’t want to sign then we will move on and move on quickly.

The boss added: “I’m not sure what Ollie will do. He says he is keeping his options open. That is fine, he has the same deadline.”
