Turton Targets Hat-Trick Of Wins

Crewe Alexandra defender Ollie Turton is targeting a third successive victory this weekend. The Railwaymen host Shaun Derry’s Cambridge United side on Saturday and the U’s will be aiming to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley in mid-week.

Turton is hoping for another good footballing game at Gresty Road. Cambridge deserved their 2-1 win over Crewe back in December although a goal from midfielder James Jones set up a late flurry.

Turton told the club’s official web-site: “It’s important to get a few more wins now to guarantee the safety and be looking up the table, we’ve been putting some good performances in.

“We’ve been in the games and been working hard and getting the rewards for it.

“It’s good to get the clean sheets, especially for the likes of me as a defender so it’s always a nice thing to gain from a match, especially when we’ve got so many recently with four from the last five games. It’s a huge positive and we’re scoring goals at the other end as well.

“At the moment we’re playing well, we’re on a bit of a roll and hopefully we can get the three points.

He added: “When you play against another footballing side like Cambridge, the best way to combat that is to keep hold of the ball yourself. If we continue to play the way we have been playing over the last few weeks then there’s no reason why we can’t get another important three points.”
