Ng Has Bright Future In The Game

20 March 2017

Artell reveals that his young defender was unfortunate not to start agains the U's at the weekend.

David Artell admits that youngster Perry Ng was unfortunate not to start against Colchester United at the weekend. Ng replaced the injured Crewe Alexandra captain George Ray after just 20 minutes against Crawley and the Liverpudlian helped us achieve a clean-sheet in an impressive 3-0 win.

Ray shook off his slight groin strain to retain his starting place against Colchester at the weekend, but Ng once again showed his versatility when replacing the unwell Zoumana Bakayogo at left-back in the second half.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “I thought Perry came on and did really well for us again. His positional sense was excellent and he made a superb tackle on the edge of the box as well.

“He was a bit unfortunate not to be in the team because he replaced George at Crawley and did really well.

“If he continues to develop and improve then he has a bright future in the game, there is no doubt about that. “
