"Newport Will Come Here Looking For 3 Points"

9 March 2017

Artell expects attack-minded Newport as they aim to claw points back on rivals.

David Artell expects Newport County to come to Gresty Road on the front foot this weekend as they aim to claw points back on their rivals.

With Newport beginning to appear cut adrift at the bottom of the table, the pressure finally told on their boss Graham Westley following last weekend’s 4-0 home defeat by rivals Leyton Orient and he was dismissed this morning.

Dave told the club’s official web-site: “I’m afraid it’s dog eat dog in football, but if you are worried about your own job then you have taken your eye off the ball.

“Every football manager nowadays is only six or so games away from pressure and the sack. That is the game now and you have to deal with that.

“We know Newport will be coming to Crewe looking to win the game. They are not at the point of no return but they need points, so they will come attack-minded and we will have to cope with that.”
