Hartlepool Paper Review

What the press made of the Pools drubbing

The Sentinel
Crewe Alex remain firmly in hot water at the wrong end of League Two after capitulating poorly at fellow strugglers Hartlepool last night.
Some 95 travelling fans were left with little to cheer – and little to be optimistic about going forward – after seeing their side firmly beaten by the end of a miserable evening.
Lewis Alessandra broke the stalemate just before half-time to knock the stuffing out of Dave Artell's side, but that was nothing compared to the blow to the nether regions when Hartlepool sub Padraig Amond doubled his side's lead, Alessandra struck a third and Nathan Thomas a fourth.
Better finishing at 0-0 in the first half might have nudged the game in a different direction, but Crewe had few answers once Hartlepool were in front.

Hartlepool Mail
Lewis Alessandra scored twice as Hartlepool United ran riot against Crewe Alexandra.
The midfielder netted at the end of a nervy first half before sub Padraig Amond doubled the lead 19 minutes from time.
Alessandra bagged his second in the 85th minute with Nathan Thomas putting the icing on the cake in stoppage time.
