Crewe defender to undergo hernia operation.

Crewe will travel to Portsmouth this weekend without the experienced Danny Hollands (hamstring) and Chris Dagnall (suspended)

Crewe Alexandra defender Jon Guthrie will undergo his hernia operation in Manchester this morning. The utility man at the back has been struggling with the injury over the last few games and was withdrawn at half-time against Stevenage. He will undergo surgery today and manager David Artell is hoping to have his most consistent defender back in an estimated three weeks.
