Guthrie Set For Hernia Operation

1 March 2017

Jon Guthrie looks to be out for three weeks with hernia injury.

Consistent defender Jon Guthrie is set to miss three weeks with a hernia injury. Guthrie has continued to play through the pain barrier over a number of weeks for the cause, but after being forced off at half-time against Stevenage at the weekend, he is now set for surgery to repair the damage.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell revealed: “Jon needs an operation. He has been playing with a hernia over the last few weeks and he played for as long as he could. He cannot go on any longer and he will have an operation on Friday.

“He has done well to play the last few games with us with a hernia but he couldn’t go on so he will go in Friday.”
