Dagnall & Cooper In Contention For Crawley

13 March 2017

Artell says he has decisions to make on his team selection

Crewe Alexandra Manager Dave Artell could shuffle his pack for the trip to Crawley after the second half collapse to Newport on Saturday.

Chris Dagnall is available again after serving his three-match suspension, & George Cooper could return after having to settle for a place on the subs bench against Portsmouth & The Exiles.

Artell revealed Callum Cooke was struggling with illness last week, but has now recovered & will travel to West Sussex, with fringe players on the squad also knocking on the manager's door asking the question.

He said: "Yeah, that's a good thing, we've got enough ability in the squad & I wouldn't hesitate to play any of them, it's about picking the right team for each match.

"Chris (Dagnall) will come back into the squad & be in my thoughts for the Crawley game & George Cooper was fantastic in training all last week & he's desperate to get back in.

"We haven't got any problems to any of our players after Saturday, Callum Cooke wasn't very well last week so he was a bit under the weather. He's fine though, he played Saturday for a large part of it.

"We've looked at Crawley & how they play & we'll pick the team we think is best to get at result down there.

"We're all good to go & we're getting players back, that's the main thing."
