Crewe Sign Goalkeeper Andy Dawber

10 March 2017

Former Accrington stopper joins until the end of the season

Dave Artell has moved swiftly to sign former Accrington goalkeeper Andy Dawber on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The move comes after Dave Richards broke a finger in Tuesday night's 4-0 victory over Hyde United in the Cheshire Senior Cup Semi-Final.

The 22-year-old was with Stanley from 2012-15, making six appearances for the Club, but gaining experience with loan spells at Marine & Clitheroe.

He joined Fulham for 2015/16 but didn't feature & spent that season away from the Club with loans at Aldershot & Bishop's Stortford.

Dawber spent the first half of the current 2016/17 season at Altrincham but had been training at The Alex over the past few weeks.

Subject to all the necessary paperwork clearances, Andy will take his place on the subs bench for the clash with Newport County at Gresty Road tomorrow.
