On-loan Boro midfielder take his own tally to 3 goals in 11 games.
Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says that loan signing Callum Cooke gave his side a lift at just the right time. Cooke arrived from Middlesbrough on deadline day and he has certainly caught the eye with three goals from his 11 appearances so far. Cooke opening the scoring at Carlisle on Saturday with a fantastic finish after George Cooper had lifted the ball over the Cumbrian defence for him to run onto.
Cooke, 20, also missed a one-on-one situation in the second half after another wonderful passing move had opened up the Carlisle defence.
Artell told crewealex.net: “It was a fantastic finish from Callum because it wasn’t easy. When you have that millisecond to think about it, you can snatch at it or hit it too sweet and put it right at the goalkeeper but it was a really controlled finish.
“The only criticism is he should have scored more. After putting the goalkeeper on his back side, he should have slotted it by him or rounded him but if that is all we have to worry about then that is not too bad.
“Callum has made a difference for us. He is a good lad and he has been a really good loan signing for us.”
