Boss Won't Rush Anyone Back

21 March 2017

David Artell says he won't risk further damage to Guthrie or Hollands after surgery.

David Artell says he won’t look to rush any of his injured players back into action and risk causing them further damage. Artell says his medical staff will remain cautious with defender Jon Guthrie (hernia) and Danny Hollands (hamstring) after they underwent surgery recently. Both hope to be back before the end of the season and whilst Artell remains optimistic of that occurring he won’t rush them back.

Artell told crewealex.net: “Jon is doing alright and his groin is fine. He is coming along alright and we will wait and see.

“I won’t be rushing anyone back and risk causing them any problems further down the line. He knows his own body and he will know when he is okay to step back onto the pitch.

“I don’t want players with those niggling doubts and not being 100% right. We are focussed on what we need to do and although we have a few out, we will be alright. It is just something you have to content with.”
