Bingham: "My Focus Is On Helping Us Climb The Table"

16 March 2017

Midfielder is back in buisness in the Alex midfielder but he says contract talks are at the back of his mind.

Alex midfielder Billy Bingham says he is not thinking about his own future plans as he tries to help Crewe move away from the relegation zone. Bingham has been an able and timely replacement for the injured Danny Hollands and the former Dagenham man certainly helped us control the tempo in our last two away victories against Portsmouth and then Crawley Town on Tuesday night.

Bingham, who has had to deal with his own frustrating time out with injuries, is out of contract in the summer but the 26-year-old is only focussed on helping see Crewe safe in the EFL.

Bingham told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “My future is in the back of your mind but if I’m being honest there is still business to do this season and we have to do that right now.

“Hopefully by the end of the season I’ll have played every game from now. I want to play as well as I can and remain injury free. I was on the receiving end of a hefty tackle on Saturday and I was just praying that it wasn’t a bad one and was going to keep me out again.

“We are in a decent position and the pressure isn’t really on us because of the point we already have but we want to get as many as we can and get nearer to the clubs in mid-table.”
