Dave Artell says pressure is on Newport AFC as they aim to cut points difference.

David Artell believes that his Crewe Alexandra side will face ‘different dynamics’ against Newport County AFC at Gresty Road this weekend, but stresses that Graham Westley’s side are under more pressure as they aim to claw back points at the bottom of League Two.

Whilst Crewe were enjoying a fine 1-0 win away at Portsmouth, Newport were on the receiving end of a heavy home defeat by relegation rivals Leyton Orient.

Artell told crewealex.net: “I am sure we will face different dynamics against Newport this weekend because we are at home and will probably be regarded as favourites but is there pressure on us?

“Newport are 13 points behind us and could be 16 points on Saturday, so I would say there is more pressure on them.

“Pressure only comes when you are worried about things but if you are secure in your job and know what you are doing then that takes the pressure away. If you do your job properly and have the confidence to do that then you have nothing to worry about.

“You just prepare as best you can and take the challenge in your stride. The pressure goes in any job if you know what you are doing and have the experience to make the right decisions.”
