Artell Outlines Crawley Challenge

13 March 2017

Boss on a 'footballing' Crawley side

Boss Dave Artell has reminded his players that they need to be back at their best if they're to pick up three mid-week points at Crawley Town.

The gaffer watched The Reds recently & was impressed with what he saw. James Collins has hit 18 goals for them so far this season, & Artell picked him out as the man to stop - after he netted both goals in Crawley's 2-0 win at Gresty Road in December.

Dave said: "We've got to pull our socks up & show that real commitment & desire. Crawley are a good footballing side & they try & play the right way.

"I saw them play at Blackpool a few weeks ago, & although it was a 0-0 they were much the better side & looked a good outfit. It will be a tough game down there on a Tuesday night.

"I've played against him (Collins) when he was at Shrewsbury, he's a good player & he's been the difference for them.

"They're not on a great run themselves though, which has probably coincided with him not scoring as many.

"There were eight away wins out of twelve matches in this division on Saturday, anyone can beat anyone in this league - we showed that against Portsmouth.

"We've got to make sure that's not a fluke & we have to start that tomorrow night against Crawley."
