Boss on making sure his team is fully focussed for the job in hand.
David Artell has told the club’s official web-site that he can sense how his players are set to perform when he assess the pre-match warm-up. The Crewe boss makes sure he is present for the warm-up ahead of kick-off and will have a quiet word with his players if he believes that the intensity isn’t there.
Dave explained: “I like to go out and watch the warm up. When I was played you could sense if the team was ready to go, so I like to go out and there and observe.
“You do get a perception on how the players are and how they are going to approach things. I just walk round and get a sense of how the players are. If I don’t think they are at it then I will have a quiet word to get them focussed on the job.
“It is nothing too harsh. I usually just ask them if they are ready, if their mind is on it.
“You can sense if the team is bubbling and it has been. It makes me feel more comfortable to see them and how they are feeling.”
