Crewe Alexandra’s new summer signing Chris Porter says he has joined the club because he wants to be involved in a genuine push for promotion.
The experienced striker, 33, has joined Jordan Bowery and defender Michael Raynes as our early summer signings and he is hoping that we are beginning to form a nucleus of a squad to challenge in EFL League Two.
Porter said: “I wanted to get promoted with whoever I signed for and I think Crewe have a great chance of that, with the three signings we’ve already made and the nucleus of the squad already in place.
“You get to know how each other play, training together day in and day out during pre-season and it will pay dividends when the season starts.
I’m a Northern lad originally so it will be nice to move back towards home.
Chris added: “Hopefully, I can hit the ground running, I want to be playing well and hopefully the fans will be pleased with my performances.”
