The Crewe Alexandra vs. Newport County fixtures for 2017/18 have been reversed due to essential pitch maintaince work at Rodney Parade in August.
Crewe Alexandra will now host The Exiles at Alexandra Stadium on Saturday August 12 2017, with the return fixture at Rodney Parade on Saturday March 24 2018.
When the EFL announced the Sky Bet League Two fixtures, Crewe were originally due to travel to Newport for the second game of the season, but County were previously given special dispensation to change their August home games for pitch work.
With this in mind, Crewe had discussions with Newport about the fixture with the possibility of a postponement, to be replayed on a Tuesday night, but the Clubs agreed to the fixture reversal.
Dave Artell's side now start the season with four home games on the bounce, with the opening day clash with Mansfield followed by Bolton in the Carabao Cup & Newport & Barnet coming to Gresty Road in quick succession.
The first away league game of the new campaign will be the trip to Vale Park to face rivals Port Vale on August 26.
