Lunt: "Kids Will Get Their Chance"

12 June 2017

Kenny Lunt says that the summer signings of Jordan Bowery, Chris Porter and Michael Raynes will not see our young players fall down the pecking order, as long as they produce the performances.

The club’s assistant manager, who made his own debut for Crewe Alexandra as a promising teenager under Dario Gradi says that the philosophy of the club will not change and the door is very much open for our young talent.

Kenny told the club’s official website: “No-one is guaranteed a place and that is the competition we were eager to create.

“The younger ones are coming on and we have high hopes for a number of them. They are at an age and experience where they perhaps cannot produce high performances every week. That can be a physical thing as well.

“With more experience and confidence I am sure they will push to the level where they can. They will get to the level where they play well on a consistent basis and when they do that then I am sure they will find a place in the team. It is open to everyone and they will be judged on performances like everyone else here.”
