David Artell happy with the characters he has been able to bring in thus far.
David Artell has told the club’s official website that his honest and upfront approach with players has helped him sign three already.
Strikers Chris Porter and Jordan Bowery have joined centre-half Michael Raynes as the club’s three new recruits this summer and he says going the extra mile has paid off for him.
Artell told crewealex.net: “I have just tried to be open and honest with the players I’ve met so far. I tell them how it is. That is how I work. I don’t tell them one thing and then do something different. I have just told them where I see them fitting in and what we need from them.
“I think players appreciate that. I know I did when I was a player. I didn’t like false promises and preferred the manager being honest with me.
“The players wanted their futures settled as quickly as possible and I was happy for this club to oblige because they are the type of players I wanted at this Football Club. They know what we are trying to do here and I am delighted to have them.”
