Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that all the players will start with a clean slate as they compete for places in the first XI. The club’s assistant manager says that the players will be judged on performances and their attitude to training from day one of pre-season.
Kenny told crewealex.net: “”When we first came in to the job we had to deal with a lot of things, but it was important that we lifted the morale of the players. There were players in the squad who felt that they were hard done by.
“We gave them a fresh chance and got them through. The likes of George Ray did well and Daggers starting scoring goals again as an example.
“It is a clean slate for everyone again. If they play and train well then they will be in, if they don’t then they won’t. It is the same for everyone.
“We have high hopes for the younger players. They have got another year of experience under their belts but they have to keep on improving if they want to become regulars. They have to work hard and keep pushing themselves. Once they get in to the team, it is all about being consistent. They have to do well enough and they know that.”
