Crewe Alexandra have added a trip to Sky Bet League One outfit Bury FC to the 2017/18 pre-season schedule.

The friendly will take place at Gigg Lane on Saturday 22 July 2017, with a 3pm kick-off.

The match against higher-league opposition provides a significant pre-season test for Dave Artell & his squad in preparation for the new campaign, whilst also providing a relatively quick reunion with former striker Ryan Lowe after he left Crewe to re-join Bury as Player-Coach in January.

Crewe last met Bury in January 2016, a 0-0 draw in League One action having drawn 3-3 in the reverse fixture at Gresty Road in August 2015.
