Crewe Alexandra’s latest signing Chris Porter says he has plenty of football still in him after agreeing to join the club from Colchester United this summer.
Porter will officially become a Crewe player on 1 July after agreeing a two-year deal with an option of a third and the former Sheffield United and Derby County striker, who is fast approaching 150 career goals, is hoping to enjoy his last years in the game with the Alex.
Porter told the club’s official website: “I met the manager and he came across really well. It is a great club and the facilities are very good for a club at this level.
“At this stage of my career, I want to enjoy my football and I had a good chat with the manager before I agreed to sign. I think it is important to talk to the manager and like I say he came across really well. He told me about his plans and how he wants me to play.
“I believe I have a lot of time left in the game and I think the manager and he way he wants to play will suit me. I am delighted to be here.
“I want to hit the ground running and being a northern lad, it will be nice to see family and friends more often. I am looking forward to it and hopefully the fans will be pleased with the performances.”
