New forward Chris Porter paid tribute to Crewe Alex Manager Dave Artell after the goal-scorer joined the Club on an initial two-year-deal.
The 33-year-old, who was Colchester United's top scorer with 16 last season, was delighted with the way his new Gaffer came across in their various communications.
Citing the Manager's approach & vision, together with his other reasons for joining Crewe, Porter can't wait to get started in his new chapter in Cheshire.
He told iFollow The Alex: "I'm delighted. I met the Manager a few days ago & he came across really well.
"I obviously know the Club having played against Crewe many times so I'm delighted with it.
"Various things helped make the decision really. It's a nice Club, the facilities are great - particularly at the training ground, I've always enjoyed playing here, the Manager coming across really well & the length of the contract was very attractive to me as well.
"How he wants to play & use me was the key factor really because I want to enjoy the rest of my time playing football. I still think I've got a lot of time left & the way he wants to play I think will suit me & get the best out of me.
"It was very important to meet him. I wouldn't of liked to have signed anywhere without meeting the Manager & speaking to them. He came across great & I'll be delighted to play for him."
