Ng: "Happy To Play Right-Back"

29 June 2017

Perry Ng eager to establish himself in any position.

Crewe Alexandra’s versatile defender Perry Ng says he is more than happy to play right-back next season.

The 21-yar-old is being earmarked to replace the departed Ollie Turton, who has signed for League One side Blackpool this summer.  Ng, who can play right across the back four or as a holding midfielder is only interested in getting as much game time as he can.

The Liverpool-born defender made 20 appearances last season, ending the campaign as our only fit centre-half, but his form alongside emergency defender Billy Bingham helped Crewe move away from the bottom places.

Ng told the club’s official website: “As long as I am in the team, I don’t really mind where I play. Ideally though, I would like to establish myself in one position. I do like right-back, I just have to push myself to get really for to play that position.

“I have to be ready and try to stay in the team. I think it is a big year for me. I want to push on and establish myself as a first-team player.

“I just cannot wait to get back into it. We are all buzzing to get back and get going again. You half dread pre-season but you are also half excited as well to get back into it.”
