Lunt: "People Can See What We Are Trying To Do"

9 June 2017

Kenny Lunt hopes that the summer captures of Chris Porter, Jordan Bowery and Michael Raynes will only attract other players to the club.

The club’s assistant manager has gone on record this week to say that David Artell is still looking for more reinforcements with his attention now switching to defenders and midfield players.

Lunt told the club’s official web-site: “We have been pleased with the three we have got in already. We wanted to do some of our business early and we have managed to do that.

“When we can sign a player like Chris Porter, who scored 16 goals last season at Colchester and has played in the Championship then we hope it gives out a positive message about what we are trying to do here.

“Hopefully, there will be players out there who will see what we are doing and they may choose to come.

“We are trying to strength the squad but I also think that when players see us go to Portsmouth, who won the league, and play them off the pitch then they sit up and take notice. They will see that on our day we are a decent team. We have to make sure we can do this on a more consistent basis.

“We are having a go and I think the fans and the other players here appreciate that.”
