Crewe Alexandra midfielder James Jones is looking forward to getting back into pre-season after enjoying his most productive season. The attacking midfielder hit a personal best of 11 goals and after surpassing over a century of games already, the 21-year-old is eager to get back playing and is especially looking ahead to our home pre-season against Stoke City on July 30th.
Jones told crewealex.net: “It has been good to come in twice a week to keep things ticking over. It puts you in good stead for when we come back full-time.
“It is important to have a break and get away from everything but it is all important to get back into it and give yourself that head start. It is good to come back stronger and not so likely to get injured.
“We have a few challenging games in pre-season, especially the home game against Stoke. It is always good to test yourself against bigger clubs and better players. Even the games against the non-league teams are important as well. They are tougher than you think and all work towards the fitness levels. There is a good mix.”
