Manager delighted with the support he has received since taking over in January.
David Artell has praised the contribution Chairman John Bowler and the board of directors have made as he finds his feet as a Football League manager.
Artell has already signed three new players this summer and he will be given funds to bring more in as he aims to rebuild his squad.
The Crewe Alexandra boss says he appreciates the club’s philosophy of not spending beyond our means and says that everyone has been supportive during his six months in charge.
Artell told crewealex.net: “The chairman and the board have been absolutely unbelievable. I do appreciate money is tight, and I know the books have to balance.
“I'm fully aware I'm a custodian of this seat just as the chairman is aware he's a custodian of the chairmanship.
“We have a duty to make sure this club is here long past our tenures, and it doesn't live beyond its means. I fully accept that.
The boss added: “But I can't fault the chairman or the board. Whenever I've gone to them with something we want to do and presented all the due diligence and facts, they've just said 'yes, get on with it."
