Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell is pleased that the club are starting the new season at ‘home’, The Alex will be having a busy August at home with the club hosting four games at the Alexandra Stadium in the opening month. That extends to five if you include our pre-season home game against Stoke City on 30th July.
Crewe are also set to host Championship club Bolton Wanderers in the first round of the League Cup.
Artell told crewealex.net: “It is always good to start at home. That is what you look for when the fixtures come out. They will all be good tests for us at the start of the season because players will be eager to impress.
“We also have Bolton in the Cup and that is one to look forward to. They will be a tough opponent. They will be on a crest of a wave after being promoted to the Championship and Phil Parkinson has done a terrific job there in getting them back up.
“It will be a challenge, but then they are all and it is always exciting to see the fixtures. “
