Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has told the club’s official web-site that the number of goals we concede this season will correlate with our overall league position.
The Alex boss will be aiming to make sure our goals against column improves in EFL Two during this coming season.
Pre-season may be very much in its infancy but the Crewe Alexandra boss was far from happy with the three goals we conceded at Kidsgrove and Buxton earlier this week.
David told crewealex.net: “We have been saying to the players that they have to either stop, create or score goals. Alex (Morris) was on to Tom (Lowery) the other night about creating or scoring a goal and he promptly got up there and scored with a great chip.
“Harry Pickering created goals on the night and had a number of shots at goal. Kirky got in the box and got his rewards with his three goals, so they know.
“We still conceded three goals over the two games and that is something we have to improve on. We will score goals but we cannot concede two or three.
“I’ve told the players that the number of goals we concede this season will correlate with our league position. We have work to do and we will be aiming to concede a lot less.”
