Brad Walker delighted to have become David Artell's latest summer capture.
Brad Walker completed his switch to Crewe Alexandra yesterday and the 21-year-old midfielder is now targeting a promotion push with the Railwaymen.
Walker signed a new two-year deal with the Football Club after Hartlepool United accepted our fee following their relegation from the EFL last season.
Walker, who also played centre-half during his time with the Pools, met his new team-mates for the first time today and he literally cannot wait to get going in pre-season.
Brad exclusively told Crewe iFollow: “I was delighted to get it over the line and sign for Crewe. It took a bit of time, longer than I wanted it to because I would have liked to have been here for the first day of pre-season but it’s done now and I cannot wait to get going.
“I want to kick on and help Crewe get back to where they belong. I look at the Stadium and the training ground and it’s not a League Two club.
“I am still young and learning my trade but I have experience of this league. I’ve played over 100 games now, so I know what to expect and hopefully my experience can help the team. Hopefully we can have a good season together.
“I met the manager a few weeks ago and he came across really well. We spoke about what he wanted to do and what he expected of me. Crewe play in the right style, pass the ball and I thought it would suit my game.
“The manager spoke of pushing for promotion and that is the mentality we need to go out there and win games. We all want to kick on and make sure we are competing at the right end of the table.”
