James Jones and Jordan Bowery have joined in light training at the club’s open training session at the Alexandra Stadium. Midfielder Tom Lowery is also training after tweaking his knee against Macclesfield Town on Tuesday night.
Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell told the club’s official web-site: “Jordan will train for the first time today and he is a bit further forward than James. Then Jonah is a bit ahead of George Ray.
“James has had a bit of discomfort in his hamstring but he has been out this morning. We are hopeful on him.
“We will assess them earlier next week and see if they are fit enough to play a part at Quorn FC on Monday. Then if they come through we will look at Saturday but we won’t rush them back. I’ve said all along that Mansfield on the opening day is not the deadline.”
